Getty Images awarded Footage Library of the Year
FOCAL International Awards honour excellence across the footage industry
London – 8 May, 2013: Getty Images is proud to announce it has been awarded the prestigious Footage Library of the Year award at the FOCAL International Awards 2013. The award highlights Getty Images’ extensive range of content which includes its renowned video library of premium stock video footage, from archival film to contemporary HD stock video. The award-winning media company has more than 1.8 million videos available through its platforms, totaling more than 20,000 hours.
Getty Images’ archival offering is built upon the Hulton Archive, an historical and extremely valuable treasure trove of content, which includes over 90 million images, such as vintage prints dating from the late 19th century. Part of Getty Images’ archival video offering includes its innovative Video Vault platform, an unprecedented online space where viewers can find full-length films from its extensive archival video library, watching the clip in its entirety, whereas previously similar platforms have only been able to showcase teaser clips. This technology allows people to search and select pre-digitised video from amongst thousands of hours of long format content.
“Getty Images is proud to offer such a wide range of inspiring content to our customers worldwide,” said Adrian Murrell, Senior Vice President, Global Editorial, Getty Images. “We are delighted by this prestigious recognition from the FOCAL judging panel.”
The Federation of Commercial Audiovisual Libraries International is a professional not-for-profit trade association formed in 1985 and is fully established as one of the leading voices in the industry.
