Getty Images photographers recognized with multiple industry awards

POYi, Sven-Simon-Preis and UK Picture Editors Guild ceremonies hand out top honours to Getty Images photographers across diverse categories

Getty Images photographers have received top honours at multiple industry awards globally, with Pictures of the Year International (POYi), Germany’s Sven-Simon-Preis and the UK Picture Editors Guild ceremonies recognising the company’s depth and breadth of talent across news, sport, entertainment and reportage.

No less than 17 prizes were awarded to Getty Images photographers by POYi, celebrating outstanding work across multiple categories. The winners are:

In Germany, staff photographer Matthias Hangst won the highly coveted Sven-Simon-Preis for Best Sport Photo of the year. The prize was awarded for his ‘cloud flight’ image of Spanish diver Carlos Gimeno at the 16th FINA World Championships.

The UK Picture Editors Guild has named Getty Images Entertainment photographer, Chris Jackson, Royal Photographer of the Year. Also awarded was Getty Images News photographer Chris Furlong for UKPEG Photo Essay Photographer of the Year.
